Cup Couture Commissions

At Cup Couture, we're suckers for a new challenge.
It could be dreaming up an exciting new flavour combination, baking hundreds of cakes for a red carpet event or coming up with a unique creation for an extra special celebration.
From popcorn buckets to golden crowns, these are just a few of our recent commissions.

The Man Who would be King, Film Premiere

We were asked by a top PR Company to create something spectacular for a private function, to be attended by a very VIP, as part of Edinburgh’s International Film Festival.

The event was the Premiere of "The Man Who Would be King" attended by none other than Sir Sean Connery...so we knew that we had to pull out all the stops.

We loved the regal theme and decided to use this as our main influence. It took several days to make the beautiful (and edible) gold crowns that finished off one hundred sumptuous Red Velvet cupcakes. Each crown had to be cut from sugar-paste, dried, hand-painted then finished with coloured cachous. And taking pride of place on the top tier was a handmade pillow cake complete with another very large, edible gold crown.

The King himself!! one hundred sumptuous Red Velvet cupcakes in all their glory Tiny, perfect little edible gold crowns sat proudly on each cupcake Taking pride of place on the top tier was a handmade pillow cake they looked amazing from every angle! ...even regal cupcakes need to enjoy some sight-seeing!

Opening Party, Glasgow Film Festival

Forget Brad and Angelina! It was Cup Couture's Salted Caramel Popcorn Cupcakes that stole the show at the Gala Opening of the Glasgow Film Festival.

More than 400 VIP guests including international actors, directors and film buffs enjoyed our individually bagged mini popcorn treats.

The vanilla cake was served in specially sourced red and white striped cupcake buckets and finishing the cakes with a salted caramel frosting added a very grown-up twist.

The organisers were so impressed that they asked us to stock the Film Theatre's Café with these super-cool little creations for the duration of the Festival.

Kir and Cupcakes, Ortak Jewellers

When we found out that high-street jewellers, Ortak, were struggling to find 'the perfect cupcake' for their prestigious 'Kir and Cupcakes' customer events, we just had to introduce ourselves!

After weeks of searching, the staff had all but given up hope of finding a cake that both looked and tasted great…that was until they sampled Cup Couture's Strawberry Bliss cupcake.

Packed with fresh strawberries, it looked very elegant but tasted zingy, fragrant and very fruity!

And after beating off stiff competition from several other cake companies, we delivered more than 400 cupcakes to Ortak’s Glasgow stores.
